AJ Pritchard 'didn’t think’ Curtis Pritchard’s head could be turned amid Love Island split

AJ Pritchard, 24, recently opened up about his younger brother Curtis Pritchard’s romance with Amy Hart, 27. The Strictly Come Dancing professional was full of confidence about the 23-year-old Love Island 2019 star’s relationship with the air hostess and believed his head “couldn’t be turned”. AJ explained to OK! Magazine: “They look so happy and at ease with each other, which is the most important thing. “He’s found someone that he can be himself around, and I don’t think his head could be turned.”

He continued: “You have to be friends before you enter a relationship, or a, ‘Half relationship’.”

However, Curtis proved his sibling wrong when he decided to call it quits with Amy during last week’s episodes of the ITV2 reality show after new Islander Jourdan Riane, 24, caught his eye.

News of the break-up may also be a surprise to AJ and Curtis’ mum Debi, who gushed about the blonde beauty to the publication.

She said: “I thought it was really cute that he asked her to be his half girlfriend.

“Amy seems really nice, so I’m pleased for them both. I don’t see why they wouldn’t work on the outside.”

Elsewhere, AJ Pritchard sparked backlash with viewers when he offered a warning to Curtis Pritchard about his problems with Amy Hart.

The dancer took to Twitter to advise his brother on what to do next after it became clear his relationship was on the rocks.

During the dramatic episode, Curtis admitted his betrayal to his half girlfriend and revealed he wanted to recouple with model Jourdan while she was away in Casa Amor.

In view of his 106,000 followers, AJ wrote: “Don’t give Amy space Bro… @CurtisPritchard @LoveIsland.”(sic)

Fans took to the comments section of the ballroom and latin expert’s tweet to criticise his comment after Amy was left broken hearted.

One wrote: “Do give her space, he broke her heart and then has the nerve to feel sorry for himself – he did this, he hurt her.”

Another Twitter user sarcastically added: “Yes.. we love pushy men who won’t give women their space…”

However, some viewers sided with AJ’s views on the situation, with one replying: “I love @CurtisPritchard. He can’t help his feelings. He is being honest. He never wanted to hurt anyone.”

Another person commented: “Feel sorry for him I know he made a mistake but he’s been truthful and still a gent. I bet it’s hard for you seeing your brother so upset.”

In last night’s episode, Curtis admitted he felt as though “a weight had been lifted off his shoulders” after ending things with Amy.

He explained to his ex: “I don’t feel the romantic connection so I don’t feel like it’ll work in the long run.”
