Aggie MacKenzie tells of flaming romp with a married man she met online

Clean queen Aggie MacKenzie says a hot date with a married man really sizzled – when their bed caught fire.

Aggie told how they had booked a converted garage on AirBnb for the night of passion – before things heated up in the wrong way.

The TV star, who rose to fame on Channel 4’s How Clean Is Your House? with Kim Woodburn, explained how she met the romeo called Tom online.

She claimed his disabled wife had given him permission to “roam”.

Recalling the night in question, Aggie, 64, said: “Everything was romping along very well, the temperature building nicely when, all of a sudden, fire alarm bells went off –the loudest I have ever heard. I jumped up – one of the pillows had shifted over, made contact with the lit candle and was now on fire. Actual flames.

“Seems the pillows weren’t such high quality after all, because the melting man-made content was dripping all over the bottom sheet, the bedside cabinet and floor. The next couple of hours were spent solemnly on Operation Clear Up.”

Aggie says the AirBnb owner didn’t bat an eyelid. “She was very gracious, insisting £20 would cover it,” she said.

“It was hardly the kind of pillow talk I’d envisaged but at least no lasting damage was done.”

Revealing the encounter in her column for Saga magazine, she joked: “Igniting the flames of passion would have to wait…”

Aggie was married to Matthew Goulcher, father to her sons Rory, 27, and Ewan, 23, for 20 years before they split in 2000.

She claimed he cheated but said: “I get annoyed with women who slate men who have affairs. It takes two to tango – it’s not always just down to the man.”
