The majority of Hollywood might be hibernating with a case of awards season fatigue, but Lady Gaga – the popstar who became a fully-fledged multi-hyphenate thanks to her acting debut in A Star is Born – has shown no sign of ennui in front of the cameras. Back on the red carpet with her long-time hair stylist Frederic Aspiras at The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Awards in Los Angeles, the “Shallow” singer smiled and twirled for the cameras – literally.
Wearing a black leather Rodarte autumn/winter 2019 gown with white frills and bow detailing, plus matching heart earrings, Gaga hung off the arm of her collaborator and blew kisses at both him and the paparazzi. Aspiras styled her hair in ringlets, and make-up artist Sarah Tanno swept rose-tinted eye shadow and crystals across her lids, before adding a fiery matte lip colour to make her pout pop during said kiss blowing. It was an unabashedly bold and fun collaboration with the rest of the Haus of Gaga team – stylists Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout – away from the pressures of awards-season dressing.
With less than two months to go until the Met Gala 2019, it’s the perfect time for Gaga, who is also not due back on the stage at her Las Vegas residency until May 30, to experiment on the red carpet. By choosing an autumn/winter 2019 look that was debuted on the runway mere weeks ago, Gaga flexed her sartorial muscle and made it clear that awards season might be over, but the silver-screen star can still have her pick of brands.
