An adorable calf who was brought in from the cold last winter now enjoys spending most of her time indoors.

Little Honey loves nothing more than snuggling up beside her canine siblings: Border Collie pup Archie, Golden Retrievers Ivy and Ada as well as Treacle – the farm’s oldest dog. The calf even loves sleeping in a dog’s bed.

She was brought into the house by the Northmore family after a challenging start to life.

Honey – who is a mix between a Charolais bull and a Dexter heffer – was born via caesarean section but was too small to keep herself warm, so 18-year-old Molly Northmore took her inside.

Molly said: ‘Honey and I have a special bond. When she was born she was so small and we were worried she wouldn’t survive.

‘The lights were on but nobody was home. For the first week we didn’t name her because we were worried she might die.

‘But now she’s fine and has become like a member of the family.’

Molly, a council worker, lives with her 21-year-old brother Jack, her vet mum Carolyn and her dad Michael – who is a farmer.

Carolyn added: ‘Molly’s got an inherent love of the animal, Honey was born as a result of an illicit liaison between a Charolais bull and a Dexter heffer that went a little bit wrong.

‘So she had to be born by C-section, and wasn’t very well when she was born. Molly took her under her wing and reared her.

‘Molly didn’t give her a chance to die.’

Honey loves chilling on the sofa and watching The Chase every evening with her family – she’s also fascinated by horse racing.

But it can sometimes be a challenge to get Honey back outside, now she’s become accustomed to the comforts of indoor life.

Molly added: ‘When it’s time to go back outside she can be a bit of a nightmare, she refuses to stand up and is just a bit difficult.

‘But she has to go outside, because she’s a cow and cows like being outside.

‘When she is inside she just lays around, if we’re in the kitchen she lays in the dog bed and if we’re watching the TV she lays in front of the fire.’
