Are you looking for a home workout to keep fit while we’re in lockdown?

Look no further. This adorable baby with Down’ssSyndrome has all the leg lifts and planks you could want.

Little Gwendolyn Egan is giving us a fitness classic after she caught sight of herself in a full length mirrored wardrobe – and started to show off her moves.

Mum Jessica, 40, and dad Joshua, 39, from Utah, filmed their daughter and realised the footage looked exactly like Gwendolyn was leading a fitness class.

The video features 15-month-old Gwendolyn doing arm lifts and raises, leg lifts, side leg raises, sidekick knee bends, the plank, and high-fiving herself in the mirror.

Gwendolyn’s parents explained: ‘She was very interested in seeing how her body works, and watching it all in the mirror for the first time’.

The little girl is a brave tot, having had two heart surgeries in the past six months.

So watching her have fun in the mirror was extra special for Jessica and Joshua.

They added: ‘Gwendolyn is full of life and fun. She had to spend two months in the hospital when she had heart surgery, but she did not let it slow her down.

‘She is learning to speak and can say mama and dada and she is on her way to being able to walk as well.

‘As her parents, we hope to show the world that living with Down’s syndrome is a gift. It makes Gwendolyn so special, yet at the same time, just like any baby.

‘We live in a world where we are trying to be accepting of people regardless of shape, size, or ethnicity. But people with Down syndrome, and any disability, are still being left behind.’

Gwendolyn’s heart is still not operating properly so she is on supplemental oxygen via a tube in her nose. This helps her heart pump enough oxygen to the rest of her body.

She will need a third surgery in the next year or so.

Her devoted parents set up her public Instagram account to ‘show people that Gwendolyn’s life is as much worth living as anyone else’s’.

It’s a popular account too, with the video of her exercising reaching more than 80,000 views.

Her parents added: ‘Maybe you didn’t know anything about Down’s syndrome, but through Gwen’s Instagram and her current “work-out”, we hope now you will see what an incredible gift it is to the world.

‘Gwendolyn has been loved and adored by people from all over the world, and each day we respond to messages to let people know how grateful we are that they love our girl. She has changed our lives, and we wouldn’t have her any other way.’
