Adele breaks silence after split from husband Simon Konecki with hilarious meme

Adele has shared her first Instagram post since announcing her split from husband Simon Konecki, and it seems that the break-up hasn’t impacted her playful sense of humour.

The singer broke her social media silence by sharing a meme that featured two photos of herself side by side.

One shot showed the 30-year-old crying, while the other captured her belting out a song during her appearance on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, pointing a finger as she gets caught up in the music.

“When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are,” the caption read.

Her light-hearted post prompted an outpouring of support from her fans and famous friends, with singer Katy B commenting: “Yes girl.”

Adele’s followers praised the star for retaining her sense of humour during the difficult time, with one Instagram user writing: “This queen really just memed herself and I’m guessing it’s about her divorce.”

“This is why she’s my idol,” another said.

“That’s right, Adele! You got this!” a third commented.

Others suggested that the singer, who last released new music in 2015, could have plenty of new material for future tracks.

“I feel a new album coming my honeys,” one fan speculated.

“Now I’m even more excited for the album,” another agreed.

The Tottenham-born singer confirmed last month that she had split from charity entrepreneur Konecki after more than seven years together.

The couple share a six-year-old son, Angelo, who they welcomed in 2012.

“Adele and her partner have separated,” a statement from the singer’s representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh read.

“They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

The pair are thought to have started dating in 2011, and were first pictured together on holiday in Florida in January 2012.

The singer then confirmed that she was expecting her first child in a blog post shared in June of that year.

Adele and Konecki married in secret, with the singer first publicly addressing the wedding during a Grammys acceptance speech in February 2017.

“My manager, my husband, my son, you’re the only reason I do it,” she told the audience.

The star was pictured entering a recording studio in New York in March, prompting rumours that she was working on new music.
