A restaurant worker has gone viral on TikTok after she revealed the moment she unknowingly turned Adam Sandler away from an IHOP (International House of Pancakes).
The waitress, Dayanna Rodas, had told a masked man and what appears to be his daughter that the wait for a table would be half an hour, which made him to decide to leave the breakfast chain.
However, the CCTV footage from the moment revealed that the man was none other than the Hollywood superstar.
When she realized what happened, Dayanna took to TikTok to share how mortified she was about the moment.
Imposed over the video, she stated: ‘Not realizing it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30 min wait and him ofc leaving because he’s not going to wait 30 mins for IHOP.’
She captioned the video, ‘Please come back’, as she wore a sad clown face to highlight how she would love to see the comedy legend head back to the restaurant.
The video has received over a million likes as fans loved the fact Adam didn’t get preferential treatment – and didn’t ask for it, either.
One user commented: ‘At least he didn’t use his fame to rush anything, he left like a normal person would.’
Another added: ‘The fact he could of [sic] said I’m Adam Sandler and didn’t is amazing, most celebrities would use their status to get them places.’
A third wrote: ‘I used to serve him regularly. Never served a nicer person.’
However, some didn’t understand how the waitress didn’t recognise the Uncut Gems star.
Hopefully, she’ll get a second chance to welcome him into the restaurant in the future.
