Actress Patricia Bosworth, who once starred alongside Audrey Hepburn, has died aged 86 after contracting coronavirus.
Patricia died on Thursday in New York, and her stepdaughter Fia Hatsay told the New York Times it was a result of pneumonia brought on by Covid-19.
She had been an actress, most known for her appearance alongside Audrey Hepburn in 1959’s The Nun’s Story, before becoming a writer.
Patriciawrote biographies of stars including Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift, as well as Jane Fonda.
During her career in front of the camera, she had studied at the Actors Studio alongside Marilyn Monroe, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Jane Fonda.
She also had a career on stage on Broadway as well as parts in TV shows including The Patty Duke and Naked City.
In the 1960s she left acting to become a journalist, writing for the New York Times and magazines, becoming contributing editor for Vanity Fair in 1994.
She also wrote memoirs about her life in 1998’s Anything Your Little Heart Desires: An American Family Story and 2017’s The Men In My Life: A Memoir Of Love And Art In 1950s Manhattan.
New York, where she passed away, has been the US state with the most coronavirus cases and deaths.
The elderly and those with underlying health conditions are most at risk for complications of the virus, however it can affect people of all ages.
