AccelerateHER Awards announce 2020 semi-finalists are unveiled



The semi-finalists in the 2020 AccelerateHER Awards for Scottish female business founders have been revealed.

The list was announced as the organisers added global IT firm CGI to the core sponsors for this year’s programme. It joins Barclays Ventures and Skyscanner.

A partnership with Aberdein Considine has also been confirmed with the law firm sponsoring this year’s Rising Star Award for the female founder with the best early stage business idea.

The fifth AccelerateHER Awards targets businesswomen whose companies fit into one of the following four categories: MedTech and Science; FinTech and Cyber Security; CleanTech and Climate; and Disruptive Innovation.

The semi-finalists are:

Cedeco Contractors Ltd, Nomad Engineers Ltd, SilviBio Limited, Tubular Sciences Ltd, Pre-Cleared Ltd T/A ClicknClear, Rockifi Ltd, Smash (TisOur), Sonas-Behavioural Science Ltd, strEAT Events, Terrible Merch, Akoni, Biscuit Tin Planning Ltd, CyberShell Solutions Ltd, MoneyMatiX Ltd, PolyDigi Tech Ltd, ProtectBox Ltd, Women’s Coin Community Ltd, Decipher Analytics, Game Doctor, Hearing Diagnostics Limited, Sixfold Bioscience Ltd, TL Tech Ltd, Walk With Path.

On 25 February   the semi-finalists will pitch to a panel of experienced judges at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology and Innovation Centre. A shortlist of 12 entrants will then progress to this year’s final which will be on 26 March at Barclays Eagle Lab at Codebase, Edinburgh.

Organised by all-female business angel group Investing Women, the awards are designed to inspire and support more female-led companies in Scotland.
