Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World beats Disney to win world’s best theme park award

DISNEY may be the happiest place on earth but it’s not the best theme park in the world this year.

Instead, it’s been beaten to the post by Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World.

That’s according to World Travel Awards (WTA), which are often dubbed the Oscars of the travel industry.

It’s the first time that the “world’s leading theme park” title has been awarded to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, which had previously won accolade for the Middle East region.

Ferrari World is known as the first Ferrari-branded theme park in the world and is home to the fastest rollercoaster in the world.

Formula Rossa accelerates from zero to 150mph in just five seconds, with riders experiencing a G-force of 4.8.

It’s so extreme, you have to wear goggles for the ride.

There are also a number of other car-themed rollercoaster rides, including Flying Aces, Turbo Track, and Fiorano GT Challenge.

Smaller kids can enjoy the park as well, with playgrounds and cinema rides.

While for adults, the highlight has to be being able to drive a Ferrari in real life.

Real car enthusiasts can even try their hand a changing the tyres of a F1 car and trying to beat the clock.

Tickets for the park start from AED 295 (£61.33) for adults and AED 230 (£47.82) for kids.

Several Disney parks were nominated for the award this year, including Disneyland Paris, Shanghai Disney Resort and Walt Disney World in Florida.

Legoland Billund, Universal Studios Singapore and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi were also nominated.

In a separate award, WTA also named the world’s leading theme park resort – where guests can stay overnight – as Disneyland Paris.

Other nominees for the award include parks in the UK, USA, and Spain.
