The readers will discuss their favourite fictional worlds in gaming, from the dark lore of Skyrim to the comic book-style universe of Darksiders.

The subject for this weeks Hot Topic was suggested by Cosmo, who asked which game or franchise do you think has the most interesting fictional world? Is it because of her lore, her characters, the artist’s art design, the mechanic’s appearance or something else?

Many franchises now have decades of experience behind them, but there wasn’t enough choices, even if it wasn’t inevitable that there was the most mentions in the series of role-playing games like The Witcher and Mass Effect.

At that time I would’ve said Halo. What the story was really nice in the Bungie era and there were really good novels too. When 343i took over, everything went to hell, but I don’t know what was going on in Halo Infinite, but I doubt that they did either.

To tell you the worst, the one who is Destiny is Destiny. Because no matter what I said, Bungie put down that from the start. I heard better now, but my dived in months ago was still a mess of weird names and nothing approaching a real story.

I can’t say that Bloodborne is my favourite now but now that that is only a simple match, I don’t think that it’s really a question. The atmosphere and the lore were unmatched although even compared to the Elden Ring.

I’m going to do that for an outside choice, but to say ‘Let’s snatched on. The ties between different games are small but they’re there and I love seeing those little nods to the previous and character plot points. I imagine how absurd and insensical this story is until it starts to hit you with existential lefts and rights, and you realise that it is not just a silly, surrealist adventure, but a game that includes the different times and locations and a world of its universe to create an amazing effect.Churchkin poopkin has been doing to prove that it hasn’t even come out on a single level.

Halo and Star WarsThe most powerful multiverse is a little complicated, if you ask me, because like the game it is pretty good in that it’s a great franchise. The movies and the movies are quite well! Star Wars: Battlefront on PSP was very sick, but the games today, like the new Star Wars: Battlefront 1, and 2, are a little disappointing to me. Even Star Wars: Jedi, Fallen Order aren’t my kind of games that I’m used to.

I’m a multiplayer, hardcore gamer. I’ve been playing tennis since I was three or four years old. I was born in 1997 and now I am 24 years old. I was first playing on Nintendo 64, then later on PlayStation 2 and then on that PlayStation 3. I switched to Xbox One and now, Xbox Series X. In my opinion, Halo wins, mainly because of all the games its quality. I am a gamer, and so my decision is very clear to me. Halo wins Star Wars and the games.

Why? Because it’s always nice to hear badass rock music when you are killing grunts, brutes and elites and a little fun to try hard in multiplayer mode. Try and kill some overkills. Trust me, on Halo Infinite I made a lot of people rage out! Even the new TV series is very dope, so I put Halo over Star Wars even as I am a real Star Wars fan.

Attractive apocalypseMy favourite game universe is one that I don’t feel gets enough attention: Darksiders! All things folk music, art is fun. This is a series with older gods, angels and demons (inspired by and basing on diverse religious beliefs) not only beating each other into their pulp, but also manipulating each other.

The story of the countless different Horsemen of the apokalypse is fantastic, spanning the two years between War and Death to try to remember whats happening after he was banished in the post-apocalyptic world, and figuring out why the apokalypse occurred in the first place. In the end, I can not wait to see what the character Strife is playing in the drama at the end of the movie.

The vast media, too, had a comic book for which I haven’t read more recently, along with a good art and introduction to each one of the characters, and a book prequel to the first and second games, as well as a comic book with an emphasis on character-styled characterlines. It also showed more of the manipulation that occurs not just from demons, but also from the angels, and how the horsemen get up when an apokalypse occurs.

The design is a lot of art. Unlike the first game, the second is slightly more realistic and the third touches a great balance between the two styles. The spin-off prequel game Genesis went full digits. The environment looks like it’s re-imagining as a resurgence in this regard, especially in a way that some of the cities are a little bit fluttering at the nature’s effect.

Welcome to GothamThe Arkham universe would be my favourite subject for this hot topic. Before Arkham Asylum was released, I knew very little about Batman except a few classic villains like The Joker, Bane, and Mr. Freeze. That all came from pop culture references and films. But the way Rocksteady created an Arkham universe caught me interested in the whole Batman lore with that I never expected.

One of my favourite things about the first and subsequent games was that whenever you stumble upon a new villain, you’d unlock his biography in the menu, which would tell you what source of their story, and even what comic issue number they first appeared in, which was a good touch.

Other games were much like their universes characters, but if they were not to the least well written, I thought of their games in Arkham. The more detailed the worlds they created, the more nook and cranny it looked like it had been poured over over for hours, they put a nice Easter egg in every corner where they could, making finding a joy in each game.

The fantastic voice-acting of the whole cast was finally realized. All that is, just like the fact that the game was so exciting and enjoyable to play it, so I got into the Arkham universe again.Angry_Kurt (Twitter)Now playing – Ghost of Tshuima, Metroid Dread and F1 22 (PC).

Alternative TokyoI don’t know if it’s a game universe, it’s a real world-like space, but I like being back to Kamurocho in the Yakuza game. There’s something cosy about that place, so I just got to know the space.

I definitely think the games reputation for its Japanese grand Theft was incorrect and a little reductive: there is no driving, you could easily stroll from one side of Kamurocho to the other in only a few minutes, but its sheer breadth and depth of the things that make it special.

You can take a lot of risk, such as a thief who stole a person’s jeans off his legs, or that it chases through the streets and beats up, visit Club Sega arcades and play a whole bunch of Sega classic arcade games like OutRun or Virtua Fighter. In addition, you can become completely addicted to the side quests, such as a cabaret club management sim or a real estate business. All of these quests return into the main game through rewarding XP, and spending the money to improve your characters abilities. The energy that you get to make in Kamurocho is worthless and detailed.

There is this, and the kooky characters with strewn across the place, or the Poppo stores at certain locations where people buy food and healing items, that make it feel like a living and fun place to hang out in.Anon’s Anon’s as well as all the big names such as the cast of the kooky characters or the poppies-shaped shops at the end of the city where people can buy food or healing items, makes it fun to have something in the

GC: It truly counts for us. It’s a good choice.

Galaxy explorerSees my mass effect. It’s not a very original sci-fi world (galaxy) but unlike modern Star Wars it’s 90 % people and there’s plenty of interesting ideas and origins here. It is more practical than just having them as objects and comic relief.

It’s really disgusting to Andromeda because it’s like an interesting match, as the fact that if that hadn’t poisoned the water we would probably have had a ton of other games by now, so I hope the new one won’t be worth the wait.

Fantasy classicsGames like Witcher 3 and Elder Scrolls are always fascinating for being the best fictional universes because of the big stuff that exists in Elder Scrolls, especially in the Elder Scrolls franchise. When I first entered Tamriel and – specifically Cyrodiil -, it was obvious that blew me away, but as you learn about historical ruins and other legends, there is a chance to play immersive gameplay!

Of course there are volumes full of ostracities from the lore. Story, poetry, myths and legends, and complete history in which many volumes tell tale tales.

The way Skyrim, Oblivion and The Witcher 3 worked was to leave you tired and take off the beaten track in wild adventures that ignored the main quests. No book was intended for the game, because it was so fun to study and think about this fictional universe.

What the Elden Ring and other Soulsborne games have are ordinary villagers coping with their lives. Yes, most people dead, and this world is more like survival than survival of the fittest, but there isn’t much to relax, but that is the essence of atmospheric tension and sounds.

I believe this is the only safe place to feel relaxed and coupled with the sparking sunset, and and, for once, the calm and very beautiful music, it brings a sense of calm and calmness to your guard. That’s a very rare touch to have in a so dark and unpredicted world of torture, destruction and misforestation. Of course you have to work hard for the sake of the lore. That isn’t so bad, it’s not for everybody.

My thing is fantasy. With Tamriel, Middle-Earth, and TalDorei from Critical Roles, a massive detailed world is just my cup of tea. Even more, taking this unique, culpable, universe is coming into play with the imagination.
