If you haven’t heard about Netflix’s true crime documentary series, Tiger King, then you could quite possibly be self-isolating under a rock.
The TV show has been the hot topic of conversation on every single WhatsApp group, created a thousand memes and it’s even inspired Miley Cyrus to chop her fringe to look like the infamous zookeeper, Joe Exotic, who attempted to hire a hit man to kill animal rights activist, Carole Baskin.
Now as Netflix also seem to be about to drop a new episode of the show with brand new interviews, documentary cable channel Investigation Discovery is about to launch a prequel series exploring what happened to Carole Baskin’s missing husband. The new series will be called, Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic and will play into the key discussion of the moment, are you team Carole or team Joe?
Well, everything you think is about to be questioned as the channel said in a statement: “Love her or hate her, Carole is now in the center ring of the big cat circus. Is she a selfless crusader and protector of animals, who found unimaginable strength despite the mysterious disappearance of her husband? Or are we witnessing Carole Baskin’s master plan finally take effect? Despite her claims of innocence, did she orchestrate the disappearance of Don Lewis to seize control of his fortune, consolidate power and lay waste to her foes? No one seems to be talking – except for one man – and that man is the center of ID’s upcoming investigative series.”
The show is said to include exclusive never-seen-before footage as they follow the mysterious disappearance of Carole’s husband, Don Lewis, who was last seen on 18th August 1997 in Florida and was worth a casual $5-7 million.
It remains an open case and Carole has always denied any involvement in the disappearance including when, after the Netflix documentary was initially aired, she issued a statement calling any claims about her, “salacious and sensational.”
