You won’t believe what Clueless star Alicia Silverstone looks like now

In the programme, Cher Horowitz has gone missing and Dionne has therefore become the most popular girl in school.

As she deals with the pressures of being popular, Dionne battle drugs as she comes to grips with the disappearance of her bestie.

The cast hasn’t yet been revealed, and it is reportedly currently being pitched to television networks.

“It is described as a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latté and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when the high school queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong No. 2 Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans,” Deadline reported.

Will and Grace writers, Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey, are onboard for the remake, as well as creator of American Gothic, Corinne Brinkerhoff.

The original Clueless movie was released in 1995 and featured an all-star line-up including Paul Rudd and the late Brittany Murphy.

It later spawned a TV series in 1996, with Rachel Blanchard taking over the role of Cher.

The movie grossed a whopping $56million (£41.4million) in the United States alone.

It also coined the iconic phrase “as if!”

Since appearing in Clueless, Alicia starred in films including 1997’s Batman and Robin, and Love’s Labour’s Lost (2000) adapted from William Shakespeare’s play and directed by Kenneth Branagh.

She made her Broadway debut alongside Kathleen Turner and fellow nineties star – American Pie’s Jason Biggs in The Graduate (2002).

Alicia also took the leading role in NBC television series Miss Match back in 2003 but the show was cancelled after just 11 episodes.

Despite the lukewarm response, Alicia received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
