LUTON have bid a £1.35m for Croatian goalkeeper Simon Sluga.
Premier League sides Norwich and Sheffield United had been linked with the Rijeka stopper.
But reports in Croatia claim Championship outfit Luton have followed up their long-term interest in the player by increasing their offer from £900,000.
A £1.35m signing would smash Luton’s 30-year-old club record fee of £850,000, which they paid Odense for Lars Elstrup in 1989.
Sluga, 26, has made one senior appearance for Croatia.
A move to Hungarian club Ferencvaros broke down at the last minute earlier this summer.
