7.45am Man Utd transfer news LIVE: January targets, Cavani faces FA racism probe, Van de Beek’s swollen ankle

MORNING MAN UTD FANS

Edinson Cavani has apologised for the ‘racist’ social media post he sent as he celebrated the win over Southampton.

The Manchester United striker, 33, took to Instagram on Sunday night and replied to a comment with ‘Gracias Negrito!’

However he still faces a three match ban despite making a public apology.

Under FA regulations, using a discriminatory word, regardless of context, leaves the South American open to a charge.

Meanwhile, United target Eduardo Camavinga is reportedly available for just £45million.

AS claims the Rennes star, 18, is free to leave the Ligue 1 side with just 18 months left on his current deal.

Real Madrid are also in the race for Camavinga, with Juventus also keen.

And with time rapidly expiring on his current contract, Rennes are apparently happy to let him depart for £45m.

In other news, United are reportedly hoping they can broker a swap deal with Villarreal involving Eric Bailly and Pau Torres.

The La Liga side’s centre-back is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe, including Tottenham.

His contract included a release clause of £60million – a figure United are not too keen to meet.

However, TEAMtalk claim there is a chance that Villarreal could be tempted to take back their former star next year.

And finally, United have been drawn at home against Watford in the FA Cup third round.

The game will be played on the weekend of January 9 and 10, 2021.
