60s music quiz questions and answers: Test your 60s knowledge – can YOU beat the quiz?

In the 1960s Flower Power was emerging, and things were beginning to change thanks to the birth of the Civil Rights Movement. In that time music influence by country and folk was growing in popularity, while the old-school rock ‘n’ roll artists were forced to make changes. As well as that, funk and soul was becoming more mainstream ahead of the disco movement of the 1970s.

The Swinging Sixties were in full throttle when many of the biggest bands ever began performing.

One of these is The Beatles, who became one of the first-ever boybands to inspire hysteria in their female fans.

As well as this, rock ‘n’ roll was brought to an abrupt end when Buddy Holly died in 1959, and soon the American folk revival took its place, along with surf music, Motown and girl groups.
