4 video games to play during spring break – The Post

Spring break is the perfect time to relax your brain, and what better way to do that than by playing video games. There’s a caveat though. The amount of time with spring break versus the amount of time of winter break varies. Winter break is the time to play a meaty game like Red Dead Redemption 2. Spring break is not the time to start a Persona 5 but God of War would fit the time frame. Breaks, like all, are about maximizing your time to the fullest extent. Here are four games that will fill the time you have for spring break and leave you wanting a little more by Sunday night before classes:

Devil May Cry 5

The newest release of the Devil May Cry series coming out this Friday, it’s the perfect time to get back into the hack-and-slash game that started it all. Play as Dante and Nero, as they hunt down and slay demons with a redefined combat system and combo meter. This game shouldn’t take an entire semester to beat, which gives you the perfect the amount of time to jump and get out before school is back in session.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends redefined what battle royale games could be in the already crowded genre space. Apex differs from another battle royale like Fortnite and Blackout because of one key reason: teamwork. Apex Legends puts you in a squad of three, and it’s up to your squad to survive till the end. Gather your friends and play a few matches with all the free time you’ll have during the break. With the matches ranging from five to 15 minutes, it’s the perfect spring break multiplayer game.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The fighting game is back, and with having a full week to yourself, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be playing Smash. Grab some friends or work on your skills and play through the biggest roster of characters and maps known for the series. Characters range from Mario to newcomers like Incineroar. There’s a character for everyone in this easy to understand but hard to master fighter. Grab a controller, play with friends and enjoy what Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has to offer to newcomers and veterans alike.

Far Cry: New Dawn

Far Cry: New Dawn takes place after the events of Far Cry 5. If you haven’t beaten Far Cry 5, don’t read ahead. After the nukes drop on Hope County, Montana, the country space has become a pink, post-apocalyptic wasteland. The setting doesn’t change in the base gameplay formula the Far Cry series is known for. There are bases to capture, companions to save and some psychopaths to fight throughout the 15 to 30-hour campaign. That just so happens to be the perfect amount needed to be a game during spring break.
