3.50pm Chelsea transfer news LIVE: Hazard to Real Madrid fee agreement close, Kovacic to join permanently even under transfer ban

CHELSEA will be without N’Golo Kante for the Europa League semi-final second-leg against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday with Ross Barkley expected to replace him.

The Blues hold a slim advantage over the Bundesliga side into the game at Stamford Bridge with the tie level at 1-1 after Pedro’s vital away goal.

Kante suffered a hamstring strain during Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Watford with the Frenchman now facing a race against time to be for the final should the Blues qualify.

Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi are long-term absentees, but club captain Gary Cahill has recovered from an Achilles injury.

However, Sarri will keep faith with the same defence that played at the Commerzbank-Arena, with David Luiz and Andreas Christensen flanked by Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson.

Eden Hazard started on the bench in Germany but with top four secure, Maurizio Sarri is set to unleash his star man after he provided two assists at the weekend.

The Belgian remains heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid this summer but will look to sign off his Blues career with one last trophy as a parting gift.
