2019's best-selling tour artists are Elton John, Rolling Stones and Queen, per Stubhub

In 2019, legacy rock ruled the concert circuit in America, according to StubHub.

Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Queen – who’ve been releasing music since the ‘60s and ‘70s – earned the top three spots in the ticket marketplace’s list of top touring artists.

There was a distinct lack of contemporary pop artists on the list, with Ariana Grande being the only act (and only female solo act) to crack the Top 10. Relative country newcomer Luke Combs appeared at No. 9.

“It’s unusual that so few pop and contemporary acts hit the list this year,” Jeff Poirier, general manager of music and theater for StubHub, said in a release. “But we do see a stronger presence if we expand our analysis to the Top 15 acts, where BTS, Florida Georgia Line and Lady Gaga show high demand.”

StubHub’s fifth annual Year in Live Experiences report is based on its 2019 sales. The Top 10:

  1. Elton John
  2. The Rolling Stones
  3. Queen
  4. Billy Joel
  5. Ariana Grande
  6. Bob Seger
  7. Paul McCartney
  8. Garth Brooks
  9. Luke Combs
  10. Justin Timberlake
