£140 million Grade A office block to go ahead on Argyle Street

A new development with 270,000 sq ft of Grade A office space is to go ahead on Argyle Street in Glasgow after full planning approval was given.

Property and investment company Osborne & Co is behind the £140 million, 13-storey building designed by Glasgow-based architects Cooper Cromar .

It will be built between Robertson Street and York Street in the International Financial Services District and have space for up to 3000 workers.

The existing building on the site has been mainly empty for the last 20 years. Plans for a Jumeirah Hotel there were previously shelved and its was acquired by Osborne+Co and partners Scotsbridge Holdings last year.

Will Hean, development director Scotland for Osborne & Co, said: “We would like to thank Glasgow City Council and their planning team for their constructive input, insights and valuable guidance throughout this process.

“Working collaboratively at all levels with the Council over the past 18 months towards this final consent has involved sound judgment and bold vision combined.

“We are delighted to now be in a position to progress this impressive office scheme onwards towards the construction phase.”
