13 Reasons Why is one of Netflix’s most controversial shows thanks to the harrowing way that it deals with issues like teen suicide and sexual assault. Seasons one and two focused on the impact of Hannah Baker’s (played by Katherine Langford) suicide on those closest to her as they navigate the trauma of the event. The third season instead deals with Bryce Walker’s (Justin Prentice) murder and who could have possibly been behind the crime. has all you need to know about where the show is set and where it was filmed.

Where is 13 Reasons Why season 3 set?

Set primarily in a high school, 13 Seasons Why examines the lives of students as they deal with the suicide of their classmate Hannah Baker.

Seasons one and two dealt with the tapes Hannah sent her classmates explaining why she took her life and the subsequent trial against the school district for their role in her death.

Season three will follow a slightly different trajectory to the previous two as it is set around the murder of Bryce Walker.

As shown in the latest exciting tailer, this season will focus on who is responsible for the mysterious death of the footballer.

The series was based initially on Jay Asher’s novel of the same name and takes place in the fictional town of Crestmont.

Much of the action takes place in the fictional Liberty High School, where the main characters attend school.

However, a number of flashback scenes in the previous two seasons have also taken place around what appears to be a typical suburban town.

While it is never explicitly alluded to where the town is in the US, viewers have pointed out it seems to be in California.

This is confirmed in season one when Clay is shown sitting on a bench looking out at two bridges.

These are the Carquinez Bridge and Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge, which are in Crockett, California.

Where is 13 Reasons Why season 3 filmed?

Another reason fans think the series takes place in California is because much of the filming takes place there.

In previous seasons, most of the action was filmed in the town of Vallejo in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The scenes set in the high school are filmed in Analy High School in Sebastopol, California.

The series films in the public school when its students are on holidays.

Although one of the stars of the show Hannah Payne, who played Stephanie in season one, revealed to Seventeen that at one point the school wasn’t available for filming.

As a result, the crew built an exact replica of the high school to film in.

Some of the most popular locations in previous seasons were shot around Vallejo, including coffee show Monet’s, which was filmed in the old City Lights building in the town.

In pictures posted by the cast on Instagram, filming for season three again took place in the San Fransisco Bay Area.

According to local publication SF Gate, the filming for the show ran from August 2018 until February 2019.
