E3 2019 is done and dusted, but it was a show to forget. In a year marred by the absence of Sony, EA, and Activision, as well as an abundance of CGI trailers, if nothing else was evident following this year’s showcase, it was that we’re in the calm before the storm.
Of course, that’s not to say there aren’t lots of great games on the horizon, and E3 2020 should be the biggest and most bombastic since 2016.
This generation, Sony has been the undeniable king of E3 showcases; proving to all other publishers just how to pack an hour and a half with incredible games and blockbuster announcements that have us watching reaction videos for years to come. It will be great to see Sony back next year with the PS5 in tow, and a slew of unannounced games.
On top of that, Microsoft should have some big reveals – although we seem to say that every year – and Ubisoft could have a few aces up its sleeve, with Warner Bros., of all publishers, having a substantial showing.
It’s VERY early days and the next year in gaming is sure to be wild and fun as heck, but we can guarantee E3 2020 is going to be special.
