10 Video Games That Need A Pop! Collection | TheGamer – TheGamer

One of the most prominent selling pieces of pop culture merchandise in the past few years has been vinyl Pop figures. These figures have been made to resemble comic book heroes, movie characters, and even video game characters. The company has even worked with Disney, who love to have precise control over their properties. Even with the tons of series a collectible line has covered, though, there are a few popular games that we haven’t seen a line from. If you’re like us, then you probably have a wish list of series you’re waiting to turn into Pops. Below we have compiled a list of ten game series that need a Pop collection.

10 Banjo-Kazooie

If you’ve spent any time on the internet, then you know one of the most wanted for games is Banjo-Kazooie. The characters in the game have a huge following, and even after years of no games being announced, support for the game series seems to have only grown. The game feature several characters that could easily be translated into a Pop figure collection which would just be divine.

Banjo and Kazooie themselves would, of course, make wonderful figures, but think of having your own mini Gruntilda and Mumbo to sit on your desk.

9 Dead Space

Another classic game series that we haven’t seen in awhile is Dead Space. The game series is one of the most surprising to not have an HD collection or Pops made of the characters. Even other horror game series have been easily translated into Pops, and we can’t help but feel like Isaac Clark deserves some recognition. They could even release the games again along with the collection, and gamers everywhere would be overjoyed.

This is a huge missed opportunity by the company as horror Pops seem to sell rather well in comparison to other series.

8 Final Fantasy

We don’t quite understand why Final Fantasy hasn’t had its own Pop series, especially since other Square Enix titles have gotten the vinyl treatment. Even if the line were just to do Pops of the creatures in the series like Moogles and Chocobos, we have a feeling the merchandise would be a huge success. Even stranger with the release of Final Fantasy VII, the company has a perfect chance to make vinyls.

We could only imagine the excitement of fans who learn that they can have a mini version of Cloud on their work desk.

7 Kirby

Kirby is a cute round ball of space alien that is loved by fans all over the world. The Kirby series has piles of merchandise from hygiene items to handbags. It’s a bit surprising that there hasn’t been a small Pop line featuring the characters from the beloved series. Let’s face it, most of the characters in the Kirby franchise would look great as small vinyl figures with huge black eyes.

We also imagine that it could be rather fun to create small versions of the different power-ups Kirby can possess.

6 The Legend of Zelda

Speaking of Nintendo franchises that don’t have a Pop collection, where is the Legend of Zelda line at? While it may be a bit of work to convert Link, Zelda, and Ganon into chibi figures, the profits from fans would probably be well worth it. They could even do multiple lines based on the different Zelda games like Wind Waker that feature an interesting art style that fans love.

Even the common monster in Zelda could make a good line, could you imagine having your very own miniature ChuChu on your desk?

5 Dead or Alive

It seems that just about any game series can get a Pop line, and even many of the popular fighting games have Pops of their popular characters. This makes us wonder why no one has seen the opportunity to make a line out of the characters from Dead or Alive. The series is extremely popular, especially among the competitive scene, and the series has been going on for years.

The first line of characters is even an easy choice as Kasumi, Ayame, and Hayabusa are easily some of the fan-favorite choices.

4 Devil May Cry

Another game that is surprisingly lacking in a Pop line is Devil May Cry. With all the stylish characters and hilarious variations of Dante, this line would be easy to make. Fans would love to scoop up figures on Nero, V, and Vergil. We even could see store exclusives of their devil trigger forms being sold. It’s pretty easy to picture V becoming an exclusive for stores like Hot Topic.

Even if they only did a small line of the main characters and skipped Lady and Trish, we would be more than happy to give them our money.

3 Mario

To round out our confusion at the lack of Nintendo Pops, let’s talk about Mario. The series is easily one of the best selling games of all times, and the characters are among the most iconic of the video game world. While they may not always be cute or look cool, Mario, Luigi, and Peach would make it easy to sell Pops that the company could make into several different series for maximum profit.

The company could even use enemies like the Goomba to make a giant vinyl to sell to bigger fans of the franchise.

2 Stardew Valley

Indie games just don’t seem to get love from the Pop company, even when the games become a sensation among players. Stardew Valley is easily one of the safest franchises to make a Pop line of. If the company really wanted to profit, they could just make vinyls of the dateable characters within the game. Fans of the series love to stand behind there favorite characters, and Fangamer is always selling out of character-related merchandise.

At the very least the company could pick out some of the most popular characters to test out the success of the line with.

1 Nioh

Nioh recently took home a huge win at the game award and is considered by many publications to be the 2019 game of the year. The game features extremely hard gameplay that tests the skills of any players who dare to pick it up. Even with the enormous challenge, the story and level progression feel rewarding, and the settings of the game are divine.

It’s a surprise that the Pop company hasn’t tried to strike a deal to make Nioh Pops since the series has won such a prestigious award.
